Be Ready

How to know that we are safe for when our Lord arrives, How to know that we are doing what our Lord requires, Ask yourself if He were here would He be happy at my side? Right this minute He would know exactly how I feel inside. We do not know when He will come again We should be ready for His reign!!! We should be eagerly awaiting Him Waiting to join Him in His realm!!! Walking daily with our Lord will make us sure of this, We will be ready all the time ensuring that our life is really His. Give Him all you have today, give Him all that you hold dear In the knowledge then, that He will always be near. (Marianna Yemenitzi)

The rapture will occur quickly, catching the unbelieving world unprepared. But the faithful Christians are aware and ready for this event, eagerly awaiting upon His return.

Just as Paul called upon the Thessalonian Christians to "abstain from every form of evil", he calls upon us as well to keep away from evil. The Greek word apechesthe literally means "abstain," or "to keep away from." - 1Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from every form of evil [withdraw and keep away from it]." Meaning that we should stay away from any kind of evil and sin, putting to death and deprive of power the evil longings of your earthly body with its sensual, self-centered instincts immorality, impurity, sinful passion, evil desire, and greed.

Paul uses the exact same form of warning in chapter 4 where he commands believers to abstain from sexual immorality. - 1 Thessalonians 4:3 "For this is the will of God, that you be sanctified [separated and set apart from sin]: that you abstain and back away from sexual immorality;" If an action violates Scriptural commands or principles, believers should avoid it. As children of the day, who were anticipating the Lord's return, they needed to live righteously. The same apply for us today, we as Children of God need to live a life without any blemishes apart from sin.

The Bible is a faultless authority not only for what we believe, but also for how we ought to behave. Paul called upon the Christians at Philippi and us to be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life. So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy set apart, sanctified for His purpose and well-beloved by God Himself, we must put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper; bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven us, so should we forgive one another. - Philippians 2:15–16 "15so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness], 16holding out and offering to everyone the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to rejoice greatly because I did not run [my race] in vain nor labor without result."

To be ready we need to meditate on God's word day and night, awaiting the coming Christ. Choose to live a life that is blameless and with out blemish, its only to be found in the Word of God. God's Word helps us choose what is morally acceptable and reject what is a form of evil. The psalmist asked a very important question in Psalm 119:9: "How can a young man keep his way pure?" The answer: "By guarding it according to your word." Also, the psalmist wrote, "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you" - Psalm 119:11.

By giving heed to the ways of living a set apart life for Christ until He returns as Paul commands us in the Word of God. We can will have certainty that all of this will culminate in perfect sanctification, when we see Christ and become eternally like Him. - 1 John 3:2 "Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory]. Expecting to see Jesus Christ is a great motivation for holy living. Be Ready so that you are not caught unprepared at the rapture.
