God our Comforter

I don't know about you but on a cold winter night, I love to get under my comforter pulling it up over my face, the only thing that is sticking out is my eyes and nose, it's if I am in a cocoon covered all around with the warmth of the comforter to protect me from the cold out there. Feeling safe, warm, and comfortable with a peace that overcomes me, knowing that I'm protected from the cold. The Apostle Paul wrote of the Comforter, not the comforter that I have mentioned above no he wrote about God being the Comforter of all. The Comforter that overflows us with His goodness giving us un inner calmness standing by us, helping us, protecting us, and keep us safe in times of trouble.

“Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort," - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 AMP.

In the Gospel, John refers to the Holy Spirit as the Comforter. The one who is called to our side our companion. The Holy Spirit does a great deal for us as disciples besides comforting us, although comfort is a part of His work. The Spirit also guides, protects us giving us un inner calmness, helping us in times of trouble, and most of all He guide us into the truth; indeed, He is called the Spirit of truth. He teaches and quickens our memory, glorifying Christ in an through us. When Jesus ascended to the Father, He said that He will ask the Father to send us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—” John 14:16 AMP.

Being our intercessor, when we don't know what to pray, He intercedes for us by the Father knowing what we need. We as disciples of Christ Jesus are safely cover with the Comforter who will always be with us.

Do you need God to be your Comforter? Guiding, helping, protecting, and comfort you in times of trouble? If your answer is Yes, I need Him, then my beloved friend all that you need to do is repent your sin and accept Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. And Christ will ask the Father to send the Comforter the Holy Spirit to be with you. The Comforter remains permanently with everyone who invites Him into their life through Christ Jesus. May you be comforted with the presence of the Comforter. Amen.
